“Sacred Seeing:” Cinema Divina as Prayer and Graced Invitation

Presented by Sr. Pat Mengel, IHM
The ancient practice of praying with Scripture known as Lectio Divina, can also invite sacred seeing when film is used as the text. During the days of this weekend retreat, Cinema Divina or Visio Divina become the doorway into God’s Word for Laetare Sunday. Participants will be invited to watch attentively and notice where God may be revealing truth, grace, conversion or mercy through the film. Focused Lenten themes, related Scriptural passages, and guided prayerful times will assist each retreatant in making personal meaning and resolutions as Lent 2027 continues to unfold.
