Carolyn A. Rebalsky, RN, MSN (retired)

Carolyn A. Rebalsky, RN, MSN (retired) is a 1962 graduate of Lankenau Hospital’s School of Nursing. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1992 and a Master of Science in Nursing in 1997 from Thomas Jefferson University. Since her early teens, Carol witnessed first-hand family and friends caring for ill loved ones. These situations greatly influenced her decision to pursue nursing as a career. Carol has served in emergency services, intensive care, and cardiac care. After working as a staff nurse, she took on leadership roles of supervisor, director of nursing, and eventually vice president. Carol has been a caregiver for as long as she can remember for both family members and friends. She officially retired from nursing in 2008 but worked part time teaching a certification course for nursing aides. To Carol, the most important aspect of nursing is caring for the person--as well as their caregivers. Caregiving is challenging and can be exhausting but is also deeply rewarding . . . especially when you realize your smile, your touch, and your kindness mean so much to the people for whom you are caring.
